Crafter, experienced keepsake maker and solo mum to 3 young girls.
I’m the face behind In Craft Corner. The products you see on the website are made by me from my home in Buckinghamshire. When not head deep in fabric and orders I’m also raising 3 young girls, ages 6-12yrs, alone. Which in itself another full time job. I enjoy playing Minecraft and do a bit of streaming on twitch in my spare time.
I found my love of crafting very early on in life, learning hand-sewing, crochet and knitting from my mum, and enjoying them at school too. I took up cross stitching in my 20s, and soon discovered a love of making things on a sewing machine, just like my mum did when I was young, making me outfits for competitions and fun days.
I made various different items over the years including clothing here and there for myself and my kids. Giving them something a little different to wear, because I didn’t always like the things in the shops. All the product I sell today I have used while bring up my kids. They were a lifesaver for me and I want to be able to help out other parents with them.
I’ve worked in a retail shop for 13 years before taking the leap into working for myself and selling the products at craft fairs, baby events and online. I’ve just reach the 10 year milestone in my business too. Even though there’s been many ups and downs over the years, it was the best decision I made. It’s allowed me to watch the kids grow up, give them fun toys and items to wear that helped me out. As they have grown older, It’s now allowing me to show them what’s possible for their future and that they can be inspired to work for themselves if they ever want to.
Family and making memories is important to me and to many of the customers that buy from me. Like with the keepsakes that are carefully created from loved ones closed. Celebrating the memories from the past and having them to always hold onto in the future. Remembering those that have passed and receiving a forever hug from their special keepsake.
